" The effectiveness of the original Pilates equipment is still tried and true in today’s workouts. As a student, an instructor and a studio owner,
Gratz has proven that you don’t have to “re-invent the wheel” to produce long-lasting results with the Classical Pilates method.
- Daniela Galdi, Owner and Instructor
Trullo Pilates
Trullo Pilates is located in the Northern Liberties neighborhood in Philadelphia, PA. It is an intimate, cozy studio that offers equipment training, small group classes, and workshops. Trullo is a proud supporter and owner of Gratz Equipment, and prides itself in providing the highest quality of equipment and education.
Our team includes: Daniela Galdi, Operating Owner; Jillian Magee and Colleen Hooper, Instructors; and Brittany Stanger, Project Manager.
The operating owner, Daniela Galdi, started Pilates in 2004 with only Mat Classes. Once she began using the equipment, she realized how much deeper she could get into each exercise and how it helped to condition and shape her body. She has used the equipment to work through rehabilitating a shoulder dislocation, back, knee and hamstring injury.
Daniela received her certification through Romana’s Pilates in 2009. She opened Trullo in January 2012. She also holds a BFA in Dance from the University of the Arts, is co-director/choreographer to The Blind Faith Project, which she and a friend began in 2008; she has also studied anatomy, corrective exercise techniques, and basic Thai massage/stretching technique. Her main focus in training is teaching movement control while applying symmetrical form, as well as informing students on how to apply these techniques to all elements of their life.
Part of the reason, owner, Daniela Galdi, opened a studio was because she was not satisfied working at multiple studios without the original equipment and thus, felt concerned that certain exercises were unsafe when teaching. Trying to make smooth transitions from exercise to exercise was very difficult, but with Gratz equipment, workouts are seamless - an important characteristic for adding the Pilates “flow” element into your workouts. Gratz equipment provides the strongest spring support needed to activate the muscles in order to perform controlled movement. Its degree of resistance is what is needed to feel the “two way pull” of the Pilates technique. Pilates is a very internal method helping to build an awareness to feel deeper muscles, feel safe in your movement and feel long, lean and tall - and Gratz equipment provides that support. Daniela admires and appreciates how professional and approachable David and the staff are, as well as their high level of support within the Pilates community.
