"Gratz was made for the work, not the work made for the apparatus.
It is the only style of equipment that enables me to do the entire method.

Kathryn Ross-Nash, Instructor & Owner of American Body Tech travels around the world teaching Pilates and several times each year she hosts instructors who travel from all over the world to visit her home studio and advance their Pilates training and understanding of the work. Kathi studied with Romana, Kathy Grant, Jay Grimes and through these legendary first generation teachers developed her passion and commitment to helping others and sharing the work she received. She is a "force to be reckoned with" and she is charming, beautiful, and possesses great physical strength, fluidity, and control in everything she does.
My studio is located in Allendale, New Jersey. It is a home studio. At the time I opened my children were small and it was the only way I could be a full time mother and teacher...plus you can't beat the commute!
Currently, I am in the process of writing manuals that focus on the Red Thread™ of the work or the method. I am trying to put pen-to-paper about the links and the method as many of us teach the method. What we teach is NOT a list of exercises, but a tailor-made prescription for the student teach. Each workout has the same components and goals but as individual as every snowflake. There are so many variations that break the work down so we can build it correctly and modify the work.
I've also begun small and personal Professional PilatesAdvanced Teacher Training Programs. These were inspired by one of the most respected and inspirational Teacher in the business, Jay Grimes. I was in agreement that there are so many wonderful certification programs out there, but that Teachers needed more. More to grow, more to become better teachers and carry on the work. Different from Jay's training, which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND he brings it back to the grass roots level.
I have chosen to work on looking at the body before you and how to utilize all the variations we have seen and tried. The Variations, although for fun, do all the specific use, each to help the student achieve the goal of each exercise without altering the exercises' original purpose. From the foundational work - how to break exercises down, to the intermediate level through to the advanced. The group consists of ten students. My studio has 5 Gratz Reformers, Barrels, High Chairs, Wunda Chairs, Mats, and Cadillacs as well as a host of other Gratz equipment.
I will be taking a year or so off from traveling to focus on these projects.
Gratz was made for the work, not the work made for the apparatus. It is the only style of equipment that enables me to do the entire method. It allows me to apply the method of each of my students and their individual needs. Nothing but a full classically outfitted studio allows you to create a full classical workout, for the most delicate of students to the most powerful students.
