" If you want the best out of the work, you have to have the best tools to work with. Nothing works as well as GRATZ.
- Laura West Strawser, Owner and Lead Instructor
Fort Worth Classical Pilates
Fort Worth Classical Pilates is located in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex just outside of Downtown Fort Worth. We started just over 5 years ago in a small, one roomed studio and quickly expanded and doubled our space. Today we have grown so much that we recently moved into a newer, fresher, beautiful open and expansive studio with plenty of space to grow and flourish.
Fort Worth Classical Pilates is a full service Pilates studio, and has 4 Reformers, 4 Wall Units, 2 Wunda Chairs, plus multiple barrels, Magic Circles, a Pedi-Pole, Electric Chair, and a Cadillac. We offer Private, Duet, and Trio Sessions, Group Classes, Mat Classes, and will offer Continuing Education Workshops soon. We continue to grow and develop and are becoming a driving force in the Pilates industry in the Dallas Fort Worth area.
Laura West Strawser owns and is the lead instructor at Fort Worth Classical Pilates. She came to Pilates through her work in musical theatre and dance while living in New York City. She was fortunate enough to work at the celebrated re:AB Pilates and completed their Teacher Training Certification Program with Brooke Siler in 2007.
After returning to Texas and searching for a home through a number of more contemporary style studios, Laura finally took the leap and opened her own studio in 2009. After 5 years in business, her studio has grown and developed into today’s Fort Worth Classical Pilates, LLC and is modeled after her classical training in New York.
Laura still choreographs locally and is on staff at the School for Classical and Contemporary Dance at Texas Christian University teaching Pilates and Bodywork. She is a member of the Authentic Pilates Union and continues to study and train in workshops and classes in New York, Dallas, Chicago and Austin throughout the year with instructors like Brooke Siler, Kathi Ross-Nash, Mari Windsor, Peter Fiasca, and Chris Robinson. She is honored to pass down the incredible work and knowledge of Joseph Pilates and feels strongly about the importance of maintaining the integrity and excellence in his work.
Why I chose Gratz: I learned on GRATZ and was trained on GRATZ, so GRATZ feels like home. When I taught on other manufacturers, I struggled with teaching the work. Nothing felt the same - like I had to learn the work all over again. I was fortunate enough to attend a Continuing Education – all on GRATZ apparatus.
I knew I was going to have to open my own studio and when I did, it would have to be all on GRATZ. On GRATZ, with the first push out on Footwork on the Reformer, it pulls you in right to your center, to your core, and you get it. GRATZ is a key element to the work and a key factor as to why Fort Worth Classical Pilates has been so successful.
